Hi, I’m Christian Fabular, a 26-year-old passionate poker player, a dedicated dad, and someone who’s always seeking to improve both at the table and in life. Here’s a little more about my background and how I got here:
My Poker Journey
I first developed an interest in poker shortly after high school. Like many, I was fascinated by the strategic depth of the game and how it combines skill, psychology, and a bit of luck. After diving deep into poker books and online resources, I began applying these strategies in low-stakes games, honing my skills and learning from every hand.
When I first moved to Las Vegas, I played a $60 no-limit hold’em tournament at the Sahara Casino and won 1st place. Since then, I’ve been hooked on poker. One of my other proudest accomplishments came while playing low-stakes poker tournaments, where I accumulated over $6,000 in live tournament earnings. Balancing Life and Poker
For the past 6+ years, I’ve been working full-time at Amazon. Juggling a demanding job and a passion for poker hasn’t been easy, but it’s taught me valuable lessons in time management and focus.
As a father of two incredible kids—I’ve also learned the importance of patience and discipline, both of which are critical when sitting at the poker table. Fatherhood has changed my approach to poker, making me more strategic and long-term focused.
From San Diego to Vegas and Back
I grew up in beautiful San Diego, California, where the laid-back lifestyle and sunny weather were perfect for a poker lover like me. In 2021, I decided to make the move to Las Vegas, the poker capital of the world, where I lived from 2021 to 2023. My time in Vegas was eye-opening and really gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in the poker world—learning directly from the tables in both casinos and online.
After two years in Vegas, I made the decision to move back to San Diego to be closer to family and give my kids the same awesome childhood I had growing up here. Now, I balance my poker grind with family life and work, sharing the ups and downs with you on this blog.
Why I Started This Blog
I started this blog to document my personal journey as I work through micro- and low-stakes games, focusing on bankroll management, strategy improvement, and maintaining a winning mindset. I know how challenging it can be to juggle work, family, and poker, and my goal is to help fellow beginner poker players, parents, and casual players navigate these waters.
